Frequently asked questions

The dozen questions that come up most often about the SoccerShop brand, its successor and this guide — answered plainly.

Is SoccerShop still operating?

Yes — with a twist. The retail branch network still trades under the SoccerShop name. The online sportsbook and casino rebranded to ReadySetBet on 8 July 2026, operated by the same company (Kalmia Trading 1085) under the same Mpumalanga licences, with the old web addresses redirecting to the new site.

Who owns and licenses SoccerShop?

The operator is Kalmia Trading 1085 (Pty) Ltd, company registration 2017/167101/07, licensed by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (publicly quoted licence numbers include 9-2-1-09502 and 9-2-1-09973). The business traces its roots to LM Bookmaker, founded by Lance Michael in 1995.

Why did the online brand change to ReadySetBet?

The published explanation was name confusion: SoccerShop was increasingly read as a sports-equipment retailer. A provincial gazette notice in March 2026 documented the intended change of trading name and URL; the relaunch followed on 8 July 2026.

What is the official website?

The current official online destination is ReadySetBet's South African domain. Every 'official site' button on this guide routes through go.php, which forwards to it — use that rather than typing addresses from memory, which is a common phishing trap.

What was the SoccerShop welcome bonus?

Publicly advertised versions of the welcome offer included a 100% first deposit match (headline size varied between roughly R2,000 and R7,500 by campaign and partner code), plus periodic free-spins or free-bet rewards for FICA completion. Rollover was typically about 5x at minimum odds on sports and racing, claimed by email. Offers change constantly — verify the live terms on the official site.

Which deposit methods were supported?

Cards (Visa, Mastercard, period-dependent AMEX), Ozow instant EFT, vouchers (1Voucher, Blu, OTT), SnapScan and Zapper, with Capitec Pay referenced in later versions. Cryptocurrency is not legal for South African betting and was never supported.

How fast are withdrawals?

E-wallet withdrawals (FNB eWallet, Standard Bank Instant Money) were referenced at around 30 minutes, collectible at ATMs. Bank EFT to all major SA banks took roughly 24–48 hours. Branches could also pay out verified accounts over the counter.

How many branches does SoccerShop have?

Eleven retail branches across three provinces — Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Eastern Cape. Our branch catalogue page lists each one with address, phone number and a description of its services.

Does SoccerShop have an app?

The SoccerShop-era apps for Android (Google Play), iOS (App Store) and Huawei (AppGallery) carried over into the ReadySetBet product after the rebrand. The mobile web version offers the full product without any install.

Is there live streaming?

No. The platform offered live in-play betting with real-time scores and statistics, but no video streaming of matches — a gap reviewers consistently noted.

What happened to my old SoccerShop account?

Accounts, balances and verification carried over to the successor platform because the operating company and licences did not change. If you held an account in the SoccerShop era and cannot log in, use the account-recovery route on the official site or the call centre.

Where can I get help with problem gambling?

The National Responsible Gambling Programme runs a free, confidential 24/7 helpline: 0800 006 008. Gamblers Anonymous South Africa offers peer support, and the operator's own tools include deposit limits, take-a-break and self-exclusion.

Still stuck?

For anything account-specific — logins, payouts, verification — only the official operator can help. Reach the official site through our redirect:
